LOCATION: Sheppards Boatyard is located in a peaceful corner of Saltford approximately 1 mile off the main (A4) Bristol/Bath road and right next to Saltford lock on the beautiful River Avon. Just the right setting to select your boat comfortably and quietly without having to keep one eye watching for traffic wardens. Car parking is plentiful and there is the Jolly Sailor Pub next door if you need to consider your purchase over 'refreshments'. One other great advantage is the wide choice and low prices we can offer due to the lower cost of space at Saltford compared with 'in town' showrooms.

Bristol Boat Centre is a family business established in Bristol in the 1950's as a chandlery service for the growing leisure boat market. For 27 years up to 1988 it was operated from Victoria Street in the centre of Bristol from where it was moved to Saltford to merge with Bristol Boats Ltd. Bristol Boats Ltd. was formed in 1960 as a boat building & repair company. From the outset, active personal participation by the owners in powerboat racing, designing and building, both circuit and offshore, provided valuable expertise in achieving the best performances from outboard powered planing boats. For some 25 years from the early 1960's to the late 1980's, 'Bristol' boats were almost certainly the most successful racing powerboats winning more races than any other boat brand. The Company is also well known for its range of simulated clincher trout-fishing boats. Originally built for Blagdon & Chew Valley lakes, fleets of the boats have since been supplied to most major water authorities all over the country, in fact we believe it fair to say that probably more fishermen regulary use 'Bristol' boats than any other makes
